Powertrains
There are two new engine options for the Nissan Altima, and those around Jacksonville, TX are going to love what they have to offer. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder bumps up horsepower and torque specs while cutting weight, getting more miles to the gallon, improving the smoothness of acceleration, and reducing the noise that makes its way into the cabin. In short, it's better in every way, and it is now available with all-wheel drive.
However, the true star of the show is the world's first production-ready Variable Compression Turbo engine, which is able to change the ratio it compresses fuel at so that you can switch between efficient drives and heart-racing ones. With an EPA-estimated 29 mpg combined, it has comparable efficiency specs of a four-cylinder engine, but it packs 248 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque that is more similar to a six-cylinder.
